Hot Italian Sausage Party Dip

What You Need

  • 1 package Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage Meat
  • 1 1/2 cups cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano Reggiano, grated
  • 2 cups diced canned tomatoes, drained
  • basil, chopped
  • tortilla chips, toasted bread or crostini for dipping

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 2-2.5 quart casserole dish. Cook sausage meat according to package instructions and set aside.

  2. Combine all ingredients together, leaving 1/2 cup of mozzarella and the basil for later.

  3. Spread sausage and cheese mixture in casserole dish. Cover and bake in oven for 15 minutes.

  4. Remove from oven and top with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 5-8 minutes uncovered, or until top is golden and bubbly.

  5. Garnish with chopped basil and serve with toasted bread or tortilla chips
