Mediterranean Burger

Incredible Mediterranean flavours are combined with a summertime BBQ favourite in our Johnsonville Mediterranean Burger. Tomato, feta and garlic are mixed with our Classic Style Sausage Meat for a savoury treat, made all the better with a Greek-inspired yogurt garlic sauce. Whether you customize  your toppings or keep it simple, this burger twist will be a hit with the whole family.

What You Need

  • Yogurt Garlic Sauce
  • 1/2 cup greek style plain yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, small and crushed
  • 15 fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • Burger Ingredients
  • 1 pkg Johnsonville Classic Style Sausage Meat
  • 1/4 cup sun dried tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 cup (loosely packed) spinach leaves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 tbsps fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/8 cup water
  • 4 buns

Preparation

  1. In a small bowl, combine all ingredients to make the yogurt garlic sauce and set aside.

  2. Combine all the burger ingredients in a medium size bowl (pork sausage meat, tomato, spinach, feta, garlic, oats, water) and use hands to blend together. Divide pork mixture into four patties. Heat the BBQ to medium.

  3. Grill burger patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until just cooked through. Toast the burger buns on the grill a minute before server.

  4. Top the buns with the grilled burger patties, a dollop of yogurt garlic sauce, and condiments of your choice, including grilled red onion slices, tomato and/or lettuce.
