Italian Sausage Sliders

Take a break from routine and change up your usual beef burgers with these mouth-watering Italian Sausage Sliders made with convenient casing-free Johnsonville Sausage Meat. Add your favourite topping or go all-Italian by smothering them in piping hot marinara sauce topped with melty provolone. Mamma mia!

What You Need

450g (1lb) ground beef

small slider buns or mini sandwich rolls

Your choice of condiments
Cheese (cheddar, provolone, Swiss or mozzarella), fresh basil, sliced tomatoes, giardiniera (marinated vegetables and olives), sauteed onions, sauteed red peppers, sauteed mushrooms, etc.
Preparation
  • In a large bowl, combine sausage meat and beef. Using your hands, blend the two meats together and form into one large ball. Use a spoon or a small measuring cup, make small 90 g (3 oz) balls and press into patties.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, pan fry 4 or 5 sliders at a time. Cook for about 3 minutes,then flip and continue cooking for another 3 minutes.
  • Test for doneness. Internal temperature should be 71°C (160°F) with no pink juices running out.
  • Slice the buns and top the sliders with your favourite condiments.
